Last week, September 2 – 6, 2024 U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona embarked on the 2024 Back-to-School bus tour. The week-long, multi-state road trip showcased “the many ways schools, families, and communities are doubling down on accelerating student achievement and raising the bar in public education with investments and other support from the Biden-Harris Administration.”
During the final day of the tour on Friday, September 6th in Pennsylvania, Secretary Cardona, Secretary Vilsack, and AFT President Randi Weingarten visited “a full-service community school to see how it has been supporting students’ academic recovery following the pandemic and ensuring that students have access to food both in school and at home.”
