According to their website, “The Maryland State Education Association has been the state’s leading voice for public education. Whether we’re lobbying for school funding in Annapolis, fighting for civil rights, or making sure every student receives the attention they need and every educator the respect they deserve, our association has been the most successful and powerful force for progress in Maryland.”

In two new videos, MSEA shines a spotlight on what real Community Schools look like in action, and what their impact is:

“Nearly one-third of all Maryland public schools will be identified as community schools thanks to funding from the Blueprint. But what are they and why do they matter? Well, the answer depends on the needs of each individual community. At Arcola Elementary School in Montgomery County, community school liaison Heather Hunter and her colleagues have been able to put together an amazing program that you have to see to believe.”

“At Shady Spring Elementary in Baltimore County, community school coordinator Lethethia Nathan and her colleagues have been working wonders that you have to watch!”
