LIFT Community Schools

lazy image

In 2016, United Way of Racine County, in partnership with Racine Unified School District, introduced the LIFT (Link and Inspire for Tomorrow) strategy to Racine County. This resulted in the transformation of Knapp Elementary into Racine County’s very first community school. A community school is a hub for the whole neighborhood it serves and a home base for partner organizations, programs and resources that are tailored to the needs, challenges and aspirations of the community it serves. Since 2016, Julian Thomas Elementary and Mitchell K-8 have also been transformed into community schools. Learn more about this work: UnitedWayRacine.org/LIFT
