What We Do

What We Do

Leadership matters when harmonizing the knowledge, skills and talents that already exist in local communities to achieve equity. The Coalition for Community Schools focuses on preparing, supporting, and mobilizing leaders of all ages, stages, and contexts to create ecosystems of collaborative leadership and advance community schools as a key equity strategy for children, families, and communities. Learn more about each of our functions below.

Prepare

We prepare leaders for quality implementation of Community Schools and a supportive ecosystem of collaborative leadership. We offer a range of technical assistance supports to help you start and grow your community schools work, tailored to different audiences.

Support

Through a nested network approach, we support leaders at all levels-from youth to state coalition leaders-to strengthen their leadership through learning and networking opportunities, including network meetings and national conferences.

Mobilize

Guided by our Coalition’s 118th Congress federal policy agenda co-created with national, state and local partners, we advocate for supportive policies and funding to advance and strengthen equity for children, families and communities through the Community Schools strategy. Use your voice and advocate with us for the policies and funding our children, families, and communities deserve!

We also lift up stories of exemplary Community Schools and Community School initiatives through our website, newsletters, and social media, to educate, inspire, and motivate others to implement Community Schools and join the movement.
